Written Confession: Charged By a Tall Furry Creature in Kentucky

The following written confession was submitted via email:

I wanted to take a moment and send in my encounter that I had roughly 10 years ago. I don't share this story a lot because of all the crazy looks I get. I was never a believer in bigfoot until I had an encounter. I was raised to think that was all old wise tails or campfire storys... Also just wanted to add that I have never in my life done any type of drugs of any sort. My story is 100% real and I've thought about it almost every single day for the last 10 years. It's like I can't get it out of my head!

When I was about 18-19 years old me and my all time best friend were huge outdoorsman. We loved to deer hunt and turkey hunt. My parents own a farm in Lexington Ky that's roughly 250 acres. Me and my buddy use to go to that farm almost every single weekend. Setting up trail cams, shed hunting deer antlers, putting out corn for deer and hanging up deer stands or blinds. We would go hunting every chance we got over there. We had no fear of the outdoors. Worst thing we thought might be out there were ticks and snakes.... But that all changed one day.

We were riding around on a John Deere gator trying to find / create new hunting areas. We were pretty deep into the woods in a very thick overgrown briar patch with lots of thorns. We thought if we could get down in there with a weed eater and clean it up. It would make an awesome hunny hole for deer since it was next to a big creek.

This was a hot summer day. Probably 1-2 o'clock in the afternoon. Absolutely no clouds insight and wasn't a windy day. Just a good clear hot summer day.

We finally stopped the gator and stood in the bed of it just to get an observation of the area we were wanting to turn into a deer hunting spot. We were having a good time and had lots of ideas on what we wanted to do and discussing how we wanted to manage deer and wild life.

Suddenly out of nowhere we noticed this massive tall tree shaking back and forth. It was probably the tallest tree in the area. Please understand when I say it was shaking, I mean it was violently shaking! It started swaying back and forth, back and forth. Limbs were popping and cracking and this went on for what seemed like forever... me and my best friend were just star struck on what could be happening. I don't think either one of us said a word to each other. We were just watching this tree shake back and forth. Then all of a sudden whatever was in that tree jumped down and we heard this massive thud. Like something big and heavy hit the dirt. The tree had stopped shaking and this creature charged at us with everything it had. We heard every foot step it took. just boom, boom, boom, boom! It all happened so fast. This creature was just on the other side of the briar brush from us. All we could see is black fur and we could hear its heavy breathing.

We both looked at each other at this point and said we gotta get out of here. We fumbled around and got the John Deere gator started as fast as we could. Going as fast as it would go to get back to the barn. We were going over logs and rocks and bouncing over anything in our way. I'm honestly lucky we didn't break anything on the gator.

Once we got back to the barn. We locked the machine up, got in my truck and we left. We both talked about it the entire way home.

When it charged us and we could hear it stomping towards us, we both agreed it was like we could feel the sound waves in our guts. Just a very uneasy feeling...

We both agreed there is no way it could have been a bear or a mountain lion or even a panther. We went round and round on what it could have been but nothing made since.

We never physically saw this creature 100%. But we do know it was very tall, black and had fur.

We came home and instantly told my parents all about it. They both just laughed and thought we were silly teenagers or that we must have been joking around. They never took my story seriously and to be honest that's always really bothered me. Because I've always been very honest and truthful with my parents.

It's totally changed our outlook on the outdoors. Ever since that happened we have never been back to that spot on that farm deer hunting. We don't go into the woods either without weapons now.

But even today, I'm almost 30 years old now. I think of this encounter almost every single day. It's sparked something inside of me. To be honest I'm still afraid to go hunting by myself. I suck it up and go because I do enjoy it. But I always carry a big knife, a pistol and my riffle now. I always try to keep an eye on my surroundings as well and I damn sure make myself get out of the woods now before it gets dark as well.

Without a doubt in my mind, I know whatever creature we saw / heard. It could rip us apart if it had wanted to. I've never had another encounter since then. I hope I never do. But I am a firm believer now that there are things out in the woods people don't know about. There are creatures all over the world that the government keeps hidden from us.

For the past 2 years I've been listening to Sasquatch Chronicles, dogman encounters, the confessionals & monsters among us podcasts. These podcasts have all helped me learn more and realize that I'm not alone, I'm not crazy and that my story did happen.
