Written Confession: A Night at the Children’s Cemetery in Massachusetts

The following written confession was submitted via email:

I was out with a friend and some of his friends. We liked to drive around alot at this age. Just dissappear into the world. One of our favorite pastimes was ghost hunting. We'd all go to abandoned places or creepy cemeteries and see if we encountered anything. Asking questions like "is there anyone here with us?" Or "can you make your presence known by making a sound?" Hahaha it was fun and we swore we knew it all.

One of the things I'd always done was pray before and after the locations because I knew that the only way I'd be safe was with the protection of Jesus. So as per usual I prayed when we got to the cemetery. We were in Ayer, Massachusetts area, we had just come from the old and abandoned Fort Devens near by. We made it to an old little cemetery that had tiny markers or thombstones which they called the baby or childrens cemetery.. I didn't know the people I was with very well. I tagged along with my good friend who was also the driver of one of the 2 cars that went to this location. It was a pretty quiet night. Not too hot or cold. I believe right around September. We were all in sweaters and comfortable. We started going in together and at some point I went off alone with my phones flashlight because I often enjoyed doing these thing a little further from the groups I was with so that I could really listen to the noises around me but I was at a distance where I felt safe and not alone. They had to have been 40 maybe 50 feet from me on the other side of this small cemetery.

I was drawn to and at the edge of the woods at this point when all of a sudden heard a low grumbling growl in the darkness. It was so dark and our phone flashlights wouldn't reach too far. I felt instant fear and an urgency to leave but I needed to know I had actually heard something so I walked away slowly back towards the group. But as I took just a couple steps away from the wood line I heard it again. And there I sped and walked to the group of "friends" on the other side. I told them I felt like we should go and that I think I heard a growl that sounded demonic to me. And to my surprise everyone simultaneously agreed that we could go now. When we walked back to the cars on the side of the road we were all in the middle of the street because this was a very quiet road in the middle of woods. And while we were there not a single car had gone by.

So we're all talking about where we're going next when my eyes just turn to look into the woods to look at these red round orbs. I guess I felt watched and hadn't realized because I didn't know I was looking at a face at first. I didn't realize that these red round lit up things in the dark were eyes. I just kept staring and at one point I said "what is that?" And that's when some of the kids I was with all turned in the same direction and suddenly the head of this creature began to turn so I could only get a view of one shining eye and his profile as my eyes adjusted to the woods around it. It was so big. This thing was so large that my eyes at first didn't connect the glowing red eyes to its body. The darkness around it I thought was just the wooded outdoor darkness but when it moved I could see the shape of its hulking body turning to walk away. It's shoulders were huge. It had a snout like a dog and big ears on top like a German shepherds. He had been looking at me that whole time I was trying to figure out what those red things were in the woods. I don't know why it looked to have moved slowly, as it was turning I could tell by the way it moved that it was covered in muscle. I didn't hear anything but by that time some kids were panicking about having seen "the red eyes!" And the ones that hadn't seen were asking what we were freaking out about. It was scary enough that we all just ran to the cars and yelled to meet at the McDonald's. And when we got there we all sat and talked about what we'd seen.

Everyone was freaking out about the red eyes. I remember sitting and staring into space in shock. Idk if its because i had stared back for so long but I felt this horrified emptiness inside. I just kept asking "What the f**k did i just see?" You know? We all agreed at the time that we'd seen a Demon. That it was out there watching us. But it never sat well with me and its stayed with me to this day.
