Written Confession: Still Looking for Answers About “The White Thing”

The following written confession was shared via Reddit:

So I've read nearly every post on here and have yet to find anything that sounds exactly like what my friends and I used to call the white thing. I grew up in rural Pennsylvania and a big group of us used to hang out at my friends parents house. His dad was a doctor so they had this huge house deep in the woods so we would spend basically every day and night here.

IMG_6328.jpeg

Everyone knew about the white thing and honestly just hearing about it scared me so much i hated walking to my car at night there, the woods just seemed odd. I had never personally seen it, but I wasn't allowed to spend as much time there as most of the other kids but I trusted what they told me.

They always talked about the white thing as they called it, and described it as about 7-8 feet tall, pure white, humanoid body type, and could run extremely fast. Everyone who had seen it encountered it a few times but was never able to get a great look because the minute it was spotted it would run back into the woods.

The weirdest encounter was when the family's aunt went on vacation once she left her tiny dog to stay at the house while she was gone. It was a really nice dog and she hung around and played with us the week she was there. She never strayed too far from the lawn and was obviously trained. One night she went out to use the restroom and then never came back. They found her collar and everyone assumed the white thing ate her. No one ever really talked about her again.

The really strange thing was when I was in college I was being interviewed by the archivist for a series of books he wrote about myths and legends of PA. We were talking about this road from that same very small town (about 800 people) that has a lot of typical scary legends around it. After we were done we were just chatting and he said he'd come across a few old reports of a werewolf in that town from the early 1900s I think. He asked me if I had ever heard of that and I told him about the white thing and he seemed a little surprised but that is as far the conversation went.

I moved away and don't really visit there much or talk to any of those people anymore but I wonder if it still exists or if it ever did or was just a story a bunch of kids talked about until they all believed in it in some way. Also my interview was never included in the book which was pretty disappointing. Sorry if this was lengthy but I was wondering if anyone else had anything similar? Maybe an albino dog man?

Is “The White Thing” really a white Bigfoot? A rake sighting? Something new? Share your theories in the comments!

NEWS: Chapman University 2018 Survey Shows Paranormal Beliefs Are on the Rise

For the last 5 years, Chapman University in California has conducted a battery of surveys focusing on in-depth examinations of American fears. Their research studies a range of topics, from government, health and environmental matters, to disaster preparedness, personal anxieties, and paranormal beliefs.

In 2018, their most recent survey revealed that government corruption is currently the primary fear that concerns Americans. However, the survey also revealed that fears and beliefs in the paranormal have been gradually rising over the past few years! Take a look below at the breakdown of the paranormal study, directly from Chapman University:

Paranormal America 2018 Chapman University Survey of American Fears

The Chapman University Survey of American Fears Wave 5 (2018) includes a battery of items on paranormal beliefs ranging from belief in aliens and psychic powers to Bigfoot and haunted houses.

IMG_4994.jpeg

Paranormal Beliefs

Currently the most common paranormal belief in the United States is that places can be haunted by spirits (57.7%), followed closely by the belief that ancient, advanced civilizations, such as Atlantis once existed (56.9%). More than two out of five Americans (41.4%) believe that that aliens visited Earth in our ancient past and more than a third believe aliens are visiting now (35.1%). Of the items we asked about, Americans are the most skeptical about fortune tellers, with only approximately 17.2% believing that others can see the future.

The Prevalence of Paranormal Beliefs

Paranormal beliefs have become the norm in the United States, if we examine how many such beliefs a person holds. Using the seven paranormal items included on the Chapman University Survey of American Fears Wave 5 (2018), we find that only about a fourth of Americans (24.1%) do not hold any of the seven beliefs. What this means is that more than ¾ of Americans believe in at least one paranormal phenomenon.

All Paranormal Beliefs are On the Rise

The Chapman University Survey of American Fears has included the same set of questions about paranormal beliefs on three waves of the survey. What is striking is how rapidly such beliefs are rising.

Belief in six of the seven paranormal items increased between 2017 and 2018, the only exception being the belief that fortune tellers and psychics can foresee the future. All seven items have risen in levels of belief since 2016. For example, Americans are fourteen percent more likely to believe that aliens once visited the earth than they were in 2016. Americans have become seven percent more likely to believe in Bigfoot in only two years.

Given that our survey includes a margin for error of +/- 3%, we should note that some of these changes maybe be slightly bigger or smaller than presented. However, the major pattern is clear – American is becoming more paranormal.

What do you think is responsible for this increase in paranormal fears and beliefs? Share with us in the comments!

Written Confession: Shadow People, Missing Time, UFOs - Recalling a Lifetime of Unexplained Experiences

The following written confession was submitted via email:

“I have had several abnormal experiences in the course of my life which at the persistence of my son have decided to share with you. I have kept these quiet until a couple of years ago, mostly because some happened pre-1970 when the paranormal was for the most part unheard of and things of that nature were thought to be some brain lapse or some sort of deja vu . The Betty and Barney Hill incident never came to MY attention until later in life and flying saucers were either in movies, imagined or deemed to be a hoax. Bigfoot was at best an object of Indian lore and future believers were/are to be ridiculed. Maybe it was because of growing up in a small Western Pennsylvania coal mining town (Export) where everybody outside of the municipality existed with outhouses and at that time, no phone service and little knowledge of the larger world. As children we built tree houses, dug caves, played in the abandoned mines, hunted on local on farms and slept in the woods when the temperature permitted without fear of our parents finding us camping out having stolen their canned soup, beer or cigarettes, much less fear a Bigfoot kidnapping. It was a redneck utopia by my standards and a life my children would never get to enjoy.

shadow-people.jpg

With that in perspective, you can imagine my fear at about age eleven or twelve when I awoke to what I thought was the presence of several shadow-type people in my room well into the post-midnight hours. I remember being approached, something being removed (?) from my right ear, fading back to sleep and awakening with a blood-stained pillow the next morning. Getting my mother (whom I confess never again discussed it with since it was “just a bad dream”, I showed her the 6” diameter pillow stain and the partially dried blood on the side of my head. I distinctly remember her cleaning my ear with Peroxide and telling me that if it persisted to ask the school nurse to take a look. One must remember that back then a doctor's visit was $7 (or literally a chicken or some beef) ! and with five kids…….., plus, the bleeding had stopped right? I never again had a problem with it. I did however later in my life write to Budd Hopkins just prior to his death questioning the procedure, cost and validity of regressive hypnosis later in life to see if their was some relic of a memory of the episode. Budd passed without a reply but a paranormal investigator that I came to know later stated that the cost was seldom worth the outcome and that there were a number of local counterfeit “Svengali's” that preyed on people like me so I abandoned the thought of the hypnosis.

Later in life after age sixteen I had a couple of weird auto trips when by myself I had gone as much as twelve miles without recollecting the trip due to (missing time?) and ending up each time approaching our driveway as if awakening from a nap. I never put a lot of stock in this (missing time) since many people have talked about the same thing happening to them. Truckers, as you know have had similar happenings calling it “white line hypnosis”. I still believe that is all it was but waking up in the same place two or three times makes me wonder a little now.

That being said, it brings me to the primary incident that I am reporting to you. Having been discharged from the Army eight years prior, my wife, first child and I were building our first home pay-to-pay in the woods near a local reservoir in about 1977 or '78. My job in the Army was that of an Army forward Air Traffic Controller which meant that I was to set up forward landing zones using discarded Navy TPN-8 radar. Having been drafted out of school I attained that position due to cognitive testing as well as my excellent and rare eyesight. Twelve of us out of about three thousand trainees were picked and removed from helicopter crew chief school at Fort Rucker to give you an idea of the tremendous eyesight we had. To be considered we had to have what we were told was a flight- plus physical. This and the fact that I never make an impulsive guess at what I see and what I will tell you as far as size and distance is credible by virtue of this God-given attribute. I worked in a control zone where we saw everything from drone missiles to SR 71 spy planes and never did I see a UFO when I worked in a control tower. EVERYTHING unusual that I saw a lot could be explained away.

1977-78 there were a number of plausible Bigfoot sightings and reported cave entrance prints in the area near me, one of which yielded footprints which were cast by, I believe, the University of Pittsburgh. There wasn't an “investigator” on every corner like today and purported sightings never went far. This one however piqued my interest when I visited the one sighting as it was reported supposedly by two State Troopers. I had also talked to one elderly lady at a paranormal symposium at a local mall that had a sighting late at night of a Bigfoot at her farm and from less than fifteen feet away from her home though not noting any smell nor aggression from the tall startled creature. I DID find her believable at age 83. She was just curious and had been questioning the investigator as to her sanity and perceived fear.

One Friday evening my father in law in law asked me to go fishing with him at a reservoir which was a fifteen to twenty minute walk through heavy brush and woods from where I was building my home while living in the foundation. I jumped at the chance to once again out-fish the self proclaimed “fish whisperer” who my father in law thought himself to be. Starting out just before eleven PM we made our way to the closest cove not using any lights to alert anybody of our presence expecting to spend the night as this area is patrolled by the authorities for criminals like us. While standing in my waders in knee deep water and rigging my line I immediately caught a 22” bass which gets larger every time I relate this. My father in law (the fishing legend) having to verify my catch came over from about fifty feet away in his waders to belittle the catch in comparison to one he caught probably some fifty years before.

While standing in our waders, we (he) noticed a light above us about 1200 feet away and about 40' over the highway. Asking me what it was I told him that it was probably a dusk-to-dawn light although it appeared bigger. As we looked down at my bass in the bright moonlight I noticed the light move clockwise behind us about ten to twenty degrees to the south of us. I looked down at the fish again and my father in law said “Hey! It's moving again”. It stopped over the tree tops completing a full quadrant of movement as was directly behind us having never elevated nor dipping into the woods canopy. It was now 70-80 feet behind us and its' light went out. My father in law looked at me and said “what the hell was that?” to which I replied that I didn't know. Shortly, guessing a minute or two, the light came back on and appeared to be about 25% larger than a basketball with a translucent bluish-white glow it the climbed upward in opposing left-right 20 foot long, 45 degree steps about seven or eight times. At the top of its ascent the light extinguished. Still gawking and mesmerized we saw this orb come back on, retrace it's path back to origin and emit a dull, very dull, beam (haze?) across the water. There was also during or near a full moon since that is when the “Fish Whisperer” dictated the best time to fish. He again questioned what was going on and we heard splashing in the water near the shore but saw nothing. I said that it might be deer coming to drink and looked back at the sphere which was still lit and prominent behind us and that was it, show over!! We awakened three to three and a half hours later still standing in our waders without a fish in hand ,

Daylight was approaching when we realized something was wrong with the time. All was very quiet and still. He asked me if we had fallen asleep while in our waders. I told him “maybe, but not for hours”. He asked where my puny fish was as if to forget what we'd seen and experienced and I thought that I had dropped it. We were not mentioning that each of us was dealing with mental torment as to the episode. He did once mention while trekking back home about the “time flying”. I didn't reply as he was not a man that you could discuss this with and would argue with a rock. He would not have made mention of it for fear of being harassed. Most of our “discussions” ended with mutual disrespect though I miss that man until this day. Thinking back later, I had previously seen a light do that same ting late one evening while sitting on my porch late one night when I couldn't sleep. It appear to be further away maybe towards the end of the 6-7 mile lake. It seemed to me that somebody was turning out the lights on an electric tower in sequence from the top down. At least that was my take on it then. Like I said, I try to debunk or explain away everything I see that confuses me. The odd part of this is that when we left the lake we never again spoke of it and to be honest I seldom gave thought to it until many years later thinking it was just one of those “brain lapses”. You know I always asked myself why nobody would report a sighting of any nature but I did keep this to myself for decades so I'm no better.

Later in life I had befriended a fellow employee who I later found to have been on tv as a witness to “The Kecksburg Incident” on Unsolved Mysteries and other shows even to this day though he had never mentioned it in the years that I had known him. Through him I had met a Kecksburg investigator who stated that there were myriads of sightings in the area where I lived and near the reservoir where we lost time that evening. We are near some of Bigfoot, orbs and aerial phenomena and not far from the popular Chestnut ridge area that has been noted on some tv shows lately. I however no longer fish and have no desire to walk those woods especially at night.

Lastly, two summers ago, our old minister was staying with us with her husband and we were cooking out with our children and grand children when I looked to the sky which was very bright with a few cumulus clouds and spotted the final phenomenon so far in my 72 years on this earth. I guess having grown up in the times of Echo and Sputnik satellites, scanning the skies had become second nature during my youth and I still spend many warm evenings alone watching from my porch rocker while petting my dog and enjoying a glass of wine, One of life's little pleasures and time of reflection. What I saw were a pod (maybe 15 or so) of tailless swallow wing-shaped highly reflective UFO's (?) writhing and intertwining at about 1500 feet. Each had its' own random sized circle , each maintained the same speed I noted to my youngest son that each went in right hand rotation. At that height they appeared to be about 30' across and disappeared into cloud cover after about 7-10 minutes and witnessed by all who were there. There was no mention of these in any of the local periodicals that week. They circled like kites but they were uniform in size and held the same right hand pattern the whole time. I'd bet my life they were not birds nor kites but possibly drones but that many?,at that altitude?, disappearing into a cloud simultaneously? Possible but not likely.

My son flies drones and even he was in awe. There were no stops nor hovering only constant motion.

Any ideas, I am at a loss?

I offer you these events for future comparison to anything reported in Westmoreland County since the phenomena of glowing orbs is gaining prominence in the UFO/Cryptid community. What happened at that reservoir was in at least my opinion as real as anything I have ever seen and defied any thing I have ever witnessed from my short time in military aviation. It was guided by defined geometry, appeared intelligent and left my soul questioning my existence, faith and purpose which I believe to be a good thing and was shown to us maybe by design. Good luck and I hope this to be of benefit to anybody having a similar experience and are maybe afraid to come forth. People my age had no reason to retain memory of these purely mental aberrations so exact timing  may be a little off. "

Former Guest of The Confessionals Shares Bigfoot Encounter on Pittsburgh Today Live!

Here’s some more Bigfoot in the media! Earlier we shared that the documentary Paranormal Bigfoot was released this month and available for online viewing! Now we’re pleased to share that one of the former guests of The Confessionals was recently featured on a segment of Pittsburgh Today Live!

Dave Groves, from Episode 45: Bigfoot in Broad Daylight, joined Bigfoot investigator Amy Bue on the Pittsburgh-area show to share his own encounter with the cryptid and to discuss the legendary Sasquatch. Dave and Amy also spoke about Bigfoot at the 34th annual Allegheny Outdoor, Sport and Travel Show at the Monroeville Convention Center following their spot on PTL.

Documentary “Paranormal Bigfoot” Makes Its Online Debut

It’s finally here! The anticipated documentary, Paranormal Bigfoot, is now available for viewing!

Created by Bilco Productions, “Paranormal Bigfoot is an investigation into a segment of the Sasquatch community that believe there is more to this enigmatic creature than a simple animal. An uncomfortable and divisive topic for those desirous of representing themselves as scientifically credible. Yet the question remains, can scientific process be claimed until even the strangest of evidence is accounted for?”

Along with notable Bigfoot community figures like Bob Gimlin, Stan Gordon, and Ron Morehead, The Confessionals Podcast host Tony Merkel can also be seen in this new documentary!

Last year Tony was interviewed about the possibility of a connection between paranormal Bigfoot, biblical fallen angels, and the Nephilim, a intriguing premise based on historical evidence from extra canonical texts. The finished film featuring Tony’s interview (and much more!) can be rented or purchased with Amazon Prime.

Click HERE to check it out now!

(If the documentary is not available for streaming in your country, click HERE to contact Bilco Productions about obtaining a DVD version.)

Thank you to Bilco Productions for the opportunity to be involved in Paranormal Bigfoot!

Creature Feature Friday: The Momo

This edition of Creature Feature Friday presents: The Momo!

Check out these 5 details about this bipedal cryptid:

1) "Momo" stands for Missouri Monster, a creature very similar to Bigfoot that is reported to reside in Missouri.

2) Physical attributes of the Momo include: a 6-to-7-foot height, a furry body with hair covering even the eyes, and a large, pumpkin-shaped head. It also smells pretty terrible.

3) The "Missouri Monster Scare" first began in July 1971, when two women saw a "half ape and half man" along Highway 79. It reportedly made strange gurgling noises.

4) Sightings continued through July 1972, and included the findings of several large, three-toed footprints.

5) The Momo also loves dogs - for dinner.  During the Missouri Monster scare, several dog graves were found disturbed and surrounded by scattered bones. Once the Momo was even glimpsed carrying a dead dog away under its arm! Yikes.

THE CONFESSIONALS EXCLUSIVE: Are Old Legend Giants Living in the Modern Day World?

LEGENDS OF THE GIANT

And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.
— Numbers 13:33

Throughout historical lore and legend, there is one fearsome figure who looms large, in a very literal sense, in stories told by numerous cultures and peoples around the world: the Giant

From Biblical accounts to Native American oral tradition to children’s fairy tales, stories of giants in human history have been handed down for thousands of years and across multiple countries.

David faces Goliath.

David faces Goliath.

Thence we sailed on, grieved at heart, and we came to the land of the Cyclopes, an overweening and lawless folk...
— The Odyssey

In the American Southwest, the Paiute tribe tells tales of war between their people and the Si-Te-Cah, a race of cannibalistic, cave-dwelling, red-haired giants. In Norse mythology, the Jotun are a giant race of nature spirits with superhuman strength. The Gigantes of Greek and Roman history are strong, oversized, monstrous men, like the Cyclops, who were descended from the gods. The Christian Bible features not only the famous story of David versus the giant Goliath, but numerous tribes of giants, some strangely marked by six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. There is even the aptly titled Book of Giants, a fragmented, apocryphal text found among the Dead Sea Scrolls that depicts the birth of giants, called the Nephilim, into the pre-flood world, when the sons of God impregnated the daughters of man.

All of these cultural accounts - and there are so many more that can be referenced - bear their own unique narrative elements, but there is one constant that connects them all: the evident and universal existence of the Giant.

Fortunately for puny humans everywhere, these accounts of huge fearsome beings stalking the earth have faded into legend, turning the existence of the giant into nothing more than a bedtime story - haven’t they...?

MODERN DAY GIANT SIGHTINGS

...Not exactly. Although giants no longer feature prominently in the makeup of the modern world, stories of real live giants have not altogether stopped. While present-day encounters of the strange or supernatural seem to largely consist of UFOs and paranormal activity, sightings of giant humanoids, though more rare, are no less significant. Below is a small collection of these possible giant sightings from the 20th and 21st centuries:

When these great men or giants had thus made their settlement and dug these wells or cisterns, they destroyed and ate all the supplies they could find in the neighborhood. It is said that one of them ate more than fifty of the natives of the land...
— The Royal Commentaries of the Incas

During the bloody battle of Guadalcanal in WWII, Japanese soldiers reported terrifying run-ins with 10-to-15-foot-tall hominids in the Solomon Islands. While these giants were (and still are) common knowledge to the local inhabitants, the soldiers found them quite aggressive - some brandishing clubs - and also resistant to bullets.

Still from the 1967 Patterson-Gimlin film.

In 2015, a mountain rescue team claimed to see 8-foot-tall beings climbing the Popocatepetl volcano in Mexico. According to the team, the unidentified creatures mounted the glacier at inhuman speed, covering a large area, which the team had taken 3 - 4 hours to traverse, in only 10 minutes.

The elusive 7-to-10-foot-tall hairy cryptid known as Bigfoot is still sighted regularly around the world in its various guises - Bigfoot, Yeti, Yowie, Sasquatch… the list of names and sightings goes on. The most famous sighting, propelling Bigfoot into popular culture, is of course the Patterson-Gimlin film taken in 1967, but records of encounters go back through at least the 1800s. Some believers theorize Bigfoot is a form of Nephilim, like the giants of old.

Perhaps the most infamous encounter of the modern age is the story of the Giant of Kandahar. According to reports, in 2002 a U.S. Army squad went missing in the desert of Afghanistan, and a Special Ops Task Force was sent to locate them. After traveling along remote mountainous terrain, the task force came upon a large cave entrance, strewn with broken military equipment. Before the soldiers could enter the cave, they were attacked by the cave’s single inhabitant - the Giant of Kandahar. Per eyewitness testimony, the giant stood 12-to-15 feet tall, sported red hair and a red beard, and had six fingers on each hand. He also carried an enormous spear that he used to impale one of the task force members before the rest of the team opened fire. The giant was allegedly so large and strong that it took 30 solid seconds of the task force shooting him in the face to finally bring him down. Following the mayhem, the giant’s body was removed by helicopter to an undisclosed U.S. base.

This surreal encounter came to light in 2016, 14 years after the incident, when author and filmmaker L.A. Marzulli interviewed an unidentified member of the Special Ops force on his YouTube series “Watchers.” According to his witness, known only as “The Shooter,” their clash with the Giant of Kandahar is classified, the task force cannot discuss details, and the U.S. government has no plans to ever reveal that it occurred. Despite the forced secrecy, the story of the Giant of Kandahar managed to surface and to raise many questions, not only about the possibility of giants, but about how their existence may be being covered up.

A GIANT COVERUP?

moabbombdroptheconfessionalsgiantblog.jpg

One such hypothetical coverup may have happened as recently as 2017, in another U.S. military-related mission. Since then, several whistleblowers have purportedly come forward to disclose that the massive MOAB bomb dropped on an ISIS territory on April 13, 2017 was used with an ulterior motive - to kill giants. If the claim of the unnamed whistleblowers is accurate, then ISIS terrorists may have been only one of the targets the MOAB bomb was intended to take out, or even a convenient cover story for eliminating a giant threat (literally) that the “Deep State” of government wanted to keep secret. When the 21,600-pound explosive was dropped over the Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan, it was believed to have killed 94 ISIS fighters living in a cave complex.  But is it possible it killed something else that lived in the caves? Though most will consider such a story to be pure conspiracy theory - another giant urban legend - there are small but curious details that connect this theory with the account of the Kandahar Giant.

Another curious detail is the name of the bomb itself. MOAB, an acronym for both the bomb’s official title “Massive Ordnance Air Blast” Bomb, and its unofficial moniker “Mother Of All Bombs”, is a biblical reference with a connection to Old Testament Nephilim. In Deuteronomy, the tribe of Moab battled a race of giants (one of several giant races) that they called Emim.  The Moabites emerged victorious, destroying the Emim giants and settling into the land they had inhabited.

The Emim had dwelt there in times past, a people as great and numerous and tall as the Anakim. They were also regarded as giants, like the Anakim, but the Moabites call them Emim. The Horites formerly dwelt in Seir, but the descendants of Esau [the Moabites] dispossessed them and destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their place, just as Israel did to the land of their possession which the Lord gave them.
— Deuteronomy 2:10-12, New King James Version

Is it only coincidence that a bomb allegedly used to destroy modern-day giants bears the same name as a race of ancient giant-killers? Or was “MOAB“ carefully chosen to repeat biblical history when it was dropped over Afghanistan? Since the “Deep State” of government is not exactly forthcoming, the MOAB coverup story leaves us, again, with more questions and no true answers. Are giants really living in our modern world?

Even more specifically, if we use the stories of the Kandahar Giant and the MOAB bomb as guides, could we find them in the mountains of Afghanistan?

A CONTACT SHARES KNOWLEDGE OF GIANTS IN AFGHANISTAN

A few months ago, The Confessionals was contacted by a soldier stationed in the Logar Province of Afghanistan. He shared some intriguing information he discovered while interacting with locals at a bazaar near his base. Though the information is limited, it corroborates other accounts of giants hidden in the Afghan mountains. The following exclusive details are what he has been able to learn and relay back to us:

  • While at the base market over the course of several visits, our contact directly asked a few locals what they knew about giants living in the mountains. When he described a giant as a “really, really tall person”,  he was met with confirmation of their existence - and was informed, multiple times, that everyone “stays the hell away from them”!

  • The locals revealed that a tribe of these “really, really tall” persons is living in the mountains of the Afghan-Chinese border, on the Afghan side. One resident even pointed clearly to the location on a map. Since the border between China and Afghanistan is only 47 miles long, this is actually a considerably specific piece of information.

  • Though the locals confirmed the existence of the giants’ whereabouts, they don’t appear to possess abundant knowledge about them, but are also extremely reluctant to discuss them beyond their location and their repeated warnings to stay away from them. The soldier states that the residents spoke passable English until the subject of giants was broached, after which their language skills suddenly broke off.

  • Oddly though, despite their resistance to discuss the giants, some locals did also mention that these beings do not sleep in a lying-down position, but rather in more of a sitting position. How they are aware of this detail or why they divulged it is not known to us!

  • During correspondence with our source, we inquired about the rules that are in place for traveling through the Wakhan Corridor Nature Refuge, which is a strip of territory in Afghanistan that stretches into China. The source suggested that it is probably not a safe place to venture, as the Taliban controls over half of Afghanistan. He has found that the local bazaar is the only safe place he can interact with the Afghan people.

  • Less than a week after this interchange, our source got in touch to say he had come across one of his own local contacts during another visit to the market, and asked him about the Wakhan Corridor Nature Refuge. That contact reported that although the Taliban does not control that specific area, it is still completely unsafe for a number of reasons: 1) There are border tensions; 2) There is no infrastructure out there; 3) The wildlife is dangerous; 4) The terrain is very rough and mountainous; and finally 5) “There is that tribe of Giants.” The advice given by our contact’s contact was to avoid the Wakhan Corridor Nature Refuge at all costs.

We are told that in the year 820 AD …way back in the days of the glory of Baghdad, the great sultan, the follower and descendant of the great El-Rashid of Arabian Nights, the Sultan El-Rashid Al-Ma’mun, decided to open the Great Pyramid. He had been told that it had been built by giants, who were called the Sheddai, superhuman beings, and that within that pyramid and those pyramids, they had stored a great treasure beyond the knowledge of man.

As stated above, these details may be limited in quantity, but they are significant in what they succeed in revealing. While our Afghanistan contact may not have seen giants with his own eyes, it’s apparent from the information he shared that Afghan locals keenly believe in their existence; have some of them have even glimpsed a giant somewhere themselves?

Also a compelling piece of information is the specific area along the Afghan-Chinese border that they named as the giants’ habitat. Though a mountainous 47-mile strip of land may not seem like an “exact location,” it’s a markedly precise one when compared to the rest of the country’s size. Afghanistan itself covers an area of 252,072 square miles, and borders six countries. The border it shares with Pakistan (its longest border) is 1,510 miles long. In contrast, the 47 miles of border Afghanistan shares with China (its shortest) suddenly becomes incredibly small! Interestingly, the Logar Province from which this information comes is actually hundreds of miles from the reported location of the giants along the Chinese border. And yet, the threat they pose seems great enough that the locals repeatedly and adamantly warn against encountering them. We can only wonder what more these tight-lipped locals really know, and why they are so reluctant to reveal that knowledge.

The giant followed, and now the whole beanstalk shook and shuddered with his weight and Jack feared for his life.
— Jack and the Beanstalk

Much like the story of the Kandahar Giant and the MOAB bomb coverup, we are still left with more questions than answers. What are these so-called “giants”? Which accounts are true and which are purely lore? Are old legend giants really living in the modern day world? Though the stories, histories, and testimony we’ve addressed may not be conclusive proof, they seem to point to the existence of giants as less legend, and more real, than many regular-sized humans may like to believe.
