Written Confession: Friends Experience Scary Cacophony of Yells on "the Squatch Road" in Oregon

The following written confession was shared via email following Episode 436 - Smoky Mountain White Bigfoot:

We recently listened to episode 436 about the white bigfoot in the Smoky Mountains. The guy you talked with had provided you with a recording he had of a “yell” type sound in the area. My husband and I were both in such disbelief when we heard that sound because we’ve literally heard the exact same sound. We live in northeastern Oregon and have a cabin in a tiny remote town high in the Elkhorn Mountains, and have heard that yell sound up there! We were on a road that had recently been gated off by the forest service and we were having a bonfire with two of our friends. We all got out of the truck and shut our doors at essentially the same time and as soon as the doors slammed there was immediately a blatant yell, like the recording you played, and it was very close by. There was a response to it, another yell, and it sounded a little further away. At first we wrote it off as coyotes or something and went on with building our fire. After the fire was built up we heard the yell again along with a yell in response. This time they sounded closer and they kept yelling back and forth and it almost sounded like they were circling us and getting closer and closer. We’ve come to the conclusion that there had to have been at least 3 different individuals out there. Although we didn’t see anything, it was pretty scary to hear that and feel like we were being closed in on. This area is extremely remote and not known by many, in other words it was definitely not campers or anyone else roaming around the woods. I actually recorded the portion of the episode where you played that recording and sent it to the friends we were with and they both couldn’t believe how similar it was to what we heard! Also we now refer to that gated road as “the Squatch road” 😂
