Written Confession: Witness Reports Upright Canine Encounter on Rural Tennessee Road

This experience happened in ten mile tn a small rural town I was 16 and just got my license and my first car me and a friend were looking for something to do one night in a town with virtually nothing to do we got on the subject of the hanging tree rumored that’s where they used to hang people back in the day my friend asked if I had ever been I said no and that’s when he asked if I’d like to go of course I said hell yes let’s go he said he was pretty sure he could get us there or could find it so we took off it was very dark on this particular night we got to the road that would take us to the tree we when we got to the stop sign he could not remember if we should take a left or a right so we took a guess and went left thinking he would recognize his surrounding he quickly realized we should have taken a right back at the stop sign. We were looking for somewhere to turn around but kinda hard to do on a narrow dirt road surrounded by nothing but woods we finally come up on a side road or some type of drive way so I turned on it it thinking I could turn around somewhere through here this road was alot more narrow then the previous one and had woods on each side of the car but we could see a street light in the distance with what looked like a opening where we could turn around somewhere through we decided that’s what we was going to do. We didn’t get far when we came up on a large black animal on all fours in the middle of the road as we got a little closer that’s when I realized the animal was what looked like a large black wolf smelling or eating something off of the rd I said to my friend is that a wolf.. wait a minute we don’t have wolfs around here. That’s when the animal stood up on 2 foot turned its body toward us and stared directly at us it had black fur that covered it body getting thicker towards the head area it hand a head and snout like a wolf but a bit more sinister look to it with pointy ears its hands and feet were elongated with hands almost like huge raccoon hands its arms and legs were very long and its body had almost a human look to it with very muscular arms and thighs but the thing that haunts me the most to this day was its eyes they were so red with a glow to them not really reflective but almost like they created their own light. I sat there in disbelief trying to figure out what I was looking at it was not afraid of us and didn’t run off like a normal animal would do it was analyzing us just as much as were it I finally asked my friend what is that? And he yelled I dont fucking know but get us the fuck out of here! And that’s when I came back to reality slammed my car in reverse and used my taillights and mirror to hopefully back us out of their all I could hear was my friend screaming go go go! I never looked to see if this thing had moved or was chasing us. We got to the end whipped the car on to the road we was on before and headed back to my friends house I kept asking him what was that all he could say was I don’t, shh, I don’t want to talk about it. We finally got back to his driveway and after sitting in silence for a few minutes I finally said we have to talk about what we just seen are you thinking what I’m thinking did we just see a fucking werewolf? He looked at me with the most panicked look on his face and said I don’t know what else it could have been. We don’t talk about it after that night the few times I did bring it up he would shut the conversation down or quickly change the topic it completely terrified my friend as for me hell yea it scared tf outta me but it made me curious and open my eyes because I never believed in anything cryptid before this incident but it raises the question what was that creature? What would it have done if we didn’t get out of there when we did? Was it something to detour us from the place we were going to that night or was the intentions something more sinister? I am now 28 live in Maryville Tennessee and I still think about that night I never want to see whatever it was again but it would be nice to have answers. Ps I never got to see the hanging tree and it got struck down by lightening a couple of years after this experience and honestly I’m glad.
