READ: Mystery of the Hundreds of Speakers on Mount Shasta Has Already Been Solved
Just days after hundreds of solar-powered speakers were discovered blasting eerie screams, static, and sermon-like messages across a hillside near Mount Shasta, the mystery appears to have been solved. Karrie Ann Snure, the horseback rider who originally found the bizarre installation with her daughter, tracked the speakers to private property and eventually made contact with the landowner.

According to Snure, the man behind the speakers wasn’t trying to summon anything. Instead, he described the installation as a personal spiritual project centered on veganism, compassion, and world peace. He reportedly believes humanity’s treatment of animals creates a kind of “heavy karma,” and that the speakers are a way of sending spoken messages and positive intentions out into the universe.
Snure chose not to identify the landowner publicly, referring to him as “Speaker Dude” after he repeatedly asked that his identity remain private. She said he felt a strong connection to Mount Shasta after visiting the area and eventually returned because of that connection.
There is, however, one final strange twist. The landowner reportedly told Snure that he would begin removing speakers based on how many people pledged to become vegan, tried vegan food and posted proof, or identified themselves as already vegan. His proposed exchange included removing one speaker for every 10 people who pledged to go vegan.
So no demons, no Sasquatch experiment, and apparently no message to the civilization beneath Mount Shasta. Just a very unconventional animal-rights campaign. For a place famous for mysteries, this one didn’t stay mysterious for very long.
