READ: Pentagon Releases New UFO Files Detailing Warp Drives, Human Injuries and Unexplained Encounters
The Pentagon has released its sixth batch of records on unidentified anomalous phenomena, adding 71 files to the government’s growing public archive of UFO-related material. The release includes 55 PDFs, 15 videos and one audio recording, with documents dating from 1952 through 2025. Most contain at least some redacted information.
Among the most notable records are documents connected to the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program, or AAWSAP, a Defense Intelligence Agency initiative established in 2008 to examine advanced aerospace threats and technologies that could emerge through 2050.

AAWSAP ended in 2012, but the newly released material offers another look at just how unconventional some of its research became. The release includes 37 Defense Intelligence Reference Documents produced through AAWSAP. Their subjects read more like speculative physics than conventional weapons research, covering concepts including warp drives, traversable wormholes, antigravity, negative mass propulsion and invisibility cloaking.
The documents themselves are not entirely new. All 37 had previously become public through other releases, including Freedom of Information Act requests. However, the latest versions restore some information that had previously been withheld, including the identities of certain government offices involved.
The Pentagon also cautions against interpreting the papers as proof that such technologies exist. It describes the DIRDs as reference and synthesis documents rather than original experimental research and says their inclusion should not be viewed as government validation of the concepts being discussed.
One of the stranger documents is a 38-page report from 2010 examining what researchers called “unintended injury to human observers by anomalous advanced aerospace systems.” The study describes three previously healthy and active individuals who experienced an unusual aerospace-related event and later suffered symptoms including skin heating and redness, hair loss and apparent radiation-related illness. One individual reportedly developed signs of malignant changes over the following years.
The source of the exposure was never identified. According to the document, the three individuals were antenna engineers. Researchers compared their symptoms with dozens of documented radiofrequency injuries and hundreds of additional unpublished cases in which the radiation source was known. The report ultimately suggested that enough unusual cases existed to consider whether advanced systems might already be operating without being fully understood by the United States. Importantly, the document does not establish that extraterrestrial craft caused the injuries.
The release also includes several military videos of unexplained objects captured during operations.
In one 2022 Middle East encounter, operators observed objects estimated to be between one and two meters across moving unpredictably through a target area. One UAP was recorded traveling at varying speeds between approximately 80 and 180 miles per hour.
Another incident from 2025 shows roughly six small spherical objects moving together. According to the accompanying report, the objects appeared agile and repeatedly changed direction. The event remains unresolved.
Four additional videos came from local law enforcement officers in Colorado. The cellphone footage, recorded in October 2023, reportedly captured a silent phenomenon displaying flashing red, blue and green lights.
The Pentagon also released an hour-long recording and transcript of a 1952 presentation by Air Force officer Captain Edward J. Ruppelt, who later led Project Blue Book. At the time, Ruppelt said the Air Force had examined roughly 800 UFO reports and found that about 20 percent involved credible observations for which investigators could reach no satisfactory conclusion. Project Blue Book would continue investigating UFO reports until 1969, and several additional Blue Book-related records are included in the new release.
The disclosure comes alongside another significant Pentagon move: the creation of a legal waiver allowing current and former government personnel who were previously restricted by nondisclosure agreements to provide UAP-related information to the government.
Taken together, the latest release does not provide proof of extraterrestrial technology. But it does offer a revealing look at the range of phenomena the military has studied over decades, from unexplained objects captured on modern sensors to theoretical research involving technologies that still sound decades, if not centuries, away.
