VIDEO: French Inventor Becomes First Person to Fly a Hoverboard Over the English Channel

We are officially back to the future, folks. Looking even cooler and more sci-fi than the original Marty McFly, French inventor Franky Zapata became the first person in history to fly a hoverboard across the English Channel, making the quick 20-minute jaunt through the air on August 4, 2019. Zapata’s hoverboard topped out at 106 miles per hour and covered 22 miles of waterway between France and England. And great news, it runs on a lot less than 1.21 gigawatts of electricity!
