Former U.S. Senator Advocates For More UFO Research
Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is pushing for more research into the ongoing UFO phenomenon, and is hoping Congress will offers its help.
Although Reid states that he rather doubts the existence of “little green men,” he does believe that the magnitude and similarities of reported UFO sightings means there is still much to study and discover about these unidentified flying objects. “We have hundreds and hundreds of people that have seen the same thing — something in the sky, it moves a certain way,” Reid said.
He also made mention of UFO sightings reported not just from the ground, but also from vessels at sea and pilots in the air, indicating that in fact some pilots do not report strange sightings because of their fear of professional repercussions. Reid’s goal is to sit down with a powerful member of the Senate - whom he declined to name - and develop a means for pilots and members of the military to safely report UFOs and “suspicious aircraft.”
In December 2017, the New York Times reported that a Pentagon program to study UFO sightings was created while Reid was still serving as a senator, because of his ardent advocacy about UFO research. Let’s hope his ongoing push to find out more about UFOs will shed light on years of mystery!
